No, it won't. the funny thing is that once it is undocked, i can do a re-boot, but if i shut it down and than try to start up it won't power up. than, i've got to dock it again and do the start-up by pushing the start up button on the docking station.. When i boot up the laptop with the lid closed on the docking station, if freezes on the "dell" logo, and does not get pass that to the windows welcome screen. i tried using the power button on the docking station to no avail. so i have to open the lid whenever i power up the system and it's really frustrating.. Dell latitude e6510 won't boot on docking station. discussion in 'dell i have tried another user's laptop in my docking station, and it works fine. so, it is not the docking station or power supply, but something peculiar with my machine. i can boot the laptop off the docking station, then put in on the docking station and it works fine..
I have an hp notebook with a 17-inch monitor, and it uses windows 7 pro, 64 bit software. my previous hp notebook worked well with my docking station, but this new computer does not.. Upon a re-boot today, my ibm t41 wouldn't re-boot while it was in the docking station. it goes to the ibm splash screen and them hangs (won't go into the bios either)..
